AGRIKIDS

On Wednesday 19th February we had a visit from Alma Jordan who runs the AgriKids Farm Safety Workshops.  It was really informative and Alma taught us lots about the lurking dangers on farms. We learned about reading caution and danger signs, how to tell if an animal feels threatened by you, the dangers of slurry and its gases and dangerous and powerful machinery and electricity.

Did you know?
-The gas from slurry is called Hydrogen Sulphite and it could kill you in seconds if you breathed it in.
-PTOs (Power Take Offs) must always have a protective cover.
-You can tell how a horse feels by the way it moves its ears. If its ears are pointing back stay well clear. That horse is NOT happy!

St Brigid's Weaved Crosses

Do you like our crosses? We used lollipop sticks and wove wool around them to make these lovely Celtic crosses in honour of St. Brigid. Take a look at how we made them:
