Monday 30th March -Suggested schoolwork for this week

Hi boys and girls.
I had given you enough work to last you until the end of this week. You may or may not have completed everything. If you have and you are ready for more work here is some suggested work for you to try this week:

RELIGION:

As Holy Week approaches it is important to do your Grow in Love lessons for Holy Week and Easter. Veritas has provided a free link for you to access your book. Follow the directions above, click on the 3rd class book and go to Theme 7: Holy Week and Easter.

GAEILGE:

3rd: Bun go Barr 3 Chapter 4-An Cartúin
Read the story on P.20 and 21.
Answer the questions A+B on P. 22. Use your dictionary to help you.

4th: Bun go Barr Chapter 4-Obair Bhaile
Read the story on P.20 and 21.
Answer the questions B+C on P. 22. Use your dictionary to help you.

These books are available on the CJ Fallon website.
Remember to practise your sentences from the back of the book.
Watch TG4 nuacht and cartoons and practise your reading aloud.

MATHS:

Look up your maths book on the Folens website. The login details are already on the blog. Go to the chapter Capacity on P.157-161 on both class textbooks and do the questions. This is a handy one to try at home as you can use containers around your house to measure capacity. Don't make a mess!

Continue with Mental Maths and keep an eye on this blog for corrections.

ENGLISH:

You have plenty of work in your readers and portfolio pages to do.
3rd: Please Look after This Bear and The Chocolate Room.
4th: Cosmic and Astronomy
Don't forget to try out the extension activities.

Write a poem for Easter or about your experience during the Coronavirus Emergency.
Email me with a poem or a letter if you like at: mrsailishfay22@gmail.com
That would be fun!

GEOGRAPHY:

Here are the answers for Projects 15 & 16:

Continue with Projects 17 & 18.
When you hear about countries on the news now why not look them up in your atlas and familiarise yourself with cities, mountains, rivers and flags.

HISTORY:

You may not realise it but this experience we are going through will be written about in history books in the future. Why not keep a diary of what your personal experience is like? It would be a wonderful thing to keep for your children and grandchildren in years to come!

Continue with the chapters I gave you to do in Ages Ago also.

ART:

Try out the clay decorations I suggested-scroll down through the blog.
Do some baking and decorate with your parents.

ICT:

See can you download Scratch and do some coding.
Carry on with your Reading Eggs.

RTE:

RTE are doing a special school programme from 11-12 each day so that might be fun to watch.

Here is a little planner which might be of use to you also:

REMEMBER:ALL OF THE ABOVE IS SUGGESTED WORK. DO WHAT IS POSSIBLE IN YOUR HOME.

A little message from me to you.

Hello boys and girls! What wonderful weather we are having right now. I hope you're getting plenty of fresh air these days. You are still allowed to go outside while you observe social distancing from others- you are hearing this over and over again but it is SO IMPORTANT!

My family are all doing well thankfully. We miss each other and my children especially miss their grandparents and friends. I'm sure you all feel the same but remember all of you children are doing such an amazing job. Even if it doesn't feel that way right now you will look back in years to come and be so proud of yourselves and your families.

I'm posting up corrections on the blog for your English in Practice and Mental maths regularly. I will keep updating with work and corrections and ideas. You can't do exactly what you would do at school but you need to keep reading and practising your tables everyday. Choose some pieces of work to do daily like we discussed before. Keep scrolling down through the blog in case you've missed something.

If you need to contact me directly about something use the following email address:
mrsailishfay22@gmail.com and I will respond as soon as I can.

Take time to browse through the padlet and the websites already posted. Look at this Gaeilge game below. Use your Irish dictionary to help you.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend in this lovely sunshine and I'll be in touch again on Monday.
Help your parents. Wash your hands. Keep safe.

Take care,
Mrs Fay xx

All the World's a Stage...

We are really enjoying our drama lessons with Alice. On World Book Day we got to make up sketches based on the characters we were dressed as. It was great fun!

Ar feadh Seachtain na Gaeilge táimíd ag déanamh iarracht mór a bheith ag caint as Gaeilge timpeall an scoil.
