Fire Safety Talk

FIRE SAFETY TALK TO 3RD AND 4TH CLASSES

Local fire fighters, Peter Brady, Ronan Kearns and Shane Murphy came in to talk to 3rd and 4th classes about fire safety in the home.

They showed the children the instruments they use and the safety gear they wear whenever they have to enter a burning building.

They also discussed how to keep our homes safe and how to make a fire escape plan at home.

The children really enjoyed the talk.  Thank you very much to Killeshandra Fire Brigade.

 We used a variety of vegetables cut up to print some masterpieces!

We thought about the textures and shapes of the vegetables as we created our group scenes.

Science Day

Children did a taste test blindfolded to determine if certain things tasted bitter, salty, sweet or sour.
Children learned that some solids dissolve in water such as salt and water, while other materials cannot dissolve such as sand.

The Big Knit

Some of the girls in 3rd class are knitting little hats for The Innocent Big Knit.

Credit Union Quiz

Credit Union Quiz Success

On Sunday 29th January Scoil Bhríde sent 6 teams of 4 to the Credit Union Quiz in The Radisson Hotel, Cavan. We were delighted when one of the Senior Teams came 3rd in the County out of over 50 teams. They scored an impressive 57 points - just 6 points below the 1st team.
